Hands‑On Shipyard Welding Training
South Seattle College’s Maritime Shipyard Welding program, in partnership with Vigor Industrial, trains students directly in the Harbor Island Training Center, a classroom inside a working shipyard. In just six months, industry professionals prepare students with certifications and hands‑on skills in marine welding, safety, and diagnostics. Graduates are job‑ready for shipyard welding and fitting positions, with strong career pathways and starting wages of $20 to 25/hour plus benefits.
